1 La llorona
Dice Milagros Palma en su obra "La mujer es un cuento", al referirse a este popularísimo mito:
"Cuentan que la Llorona es el alma en pena de una mujer despojada de sus hijos, por eso su llanto errabundo. En algunos relatos aparece una mujer enloquecida quien no aguantó la miseria, acabando con ella y sus hijos. Entonces el alma quedó vagando por los pueblos, preguntando por sus hijos y lamentando su tragedia".
La Llorona es pues, independientemente de las circunstancias y variantes que cada región le dé a su identidad, un mito genérico de los que personifican a un espíritu de una madre en pena.
Simboliza el castigo al proceder de algunos padres que de forma irresponsable y sin medir las consecuencias de sus actos, conciben los hijos para luego evadir sus obligaciones, recurriendo al aborto, como si la criatura por venir fuese la culpable de sus errores.
1 The Weeping Woman
Milagros Palma says in her book "The woman is a story," referring to the wildly popular myth:
"They say that the Weeping Woman is the banshee of a woman stripped of her children, so her wandering tears. In some stories it is a crazy woman who could not stand her misery, killing herself and her children. Then her soul wanders villages, asking for their children and lamenting her tragedy ".
La Llorona is then, regardless of the circumstances and variants that each region has of her identity, a generic myth personifying a spirit of a mother in grief.
It symbolizes the punishment that comes to some parents who irresponsibly and without considering the consequences of their actions, they conceive children then evade their obligations, resorting to abortion, as if the creature to come was to blame for their mistakes.

Se dice de una mujer muy hermosa y con una mirada cautivadora, la cual vive rodeada por culebras. Cuenta la historia que esta mujer era infiel a su esposo, quien al enterarse de esta situación le cortó una pierna y se la entregó al amante mientras que él se llevó a la señorita a la selva para que ella se muriera lentamente; ella en la selva no se murió, por lo contrario le pasaron una serie de mutaciones, aunque muchos dicen que esta fue una historia creada para asustar a los infieles. Esta historia es una de las más populares de Colombia, y según los que la han visto ella aparece en los andes Huilenses.

2 One Foot
It is said that a very beautiful woman with seductive look, who lives surrounded by snakes. The story says that this woman was unfaithful to her husband, who upon hearing this cut her leg and handed it to her lover while he took her to the jungle so that she died slowly. However, she did not die in the jungle, on the contrary she suffered a series of mutations, although many say that this was a story created to scare unfaithful people. This story is one of the most popular in Colombia, and according to those who have seen her appear in Huila region.

Cuenta la leyenda, que el Tunjo es representado como un muñeco de oro. Algunos dicen que son pequeños ídolos simbólicos o divinos de los "Pijaos"; otros dicen que fueron dioses o solo ofrendas para sus dioses o sus caciques. El Tunjo aparece por las noches en forma de un bebé inofensivo llorando por las grandes calles, en el cruce de los bosques, de una quebrada, por las ruinas, casas abandonadas o en los ríos. Si alguien cae presa del Tunjo, le dará un buen susto pero nada grave. A cambio de esto, lo enriquecerá con fortunas misteriosas. Si la supuesta "víctima" ignora al Tunjo, este supuesto "niño" abandonado, lo seguirá (o montará si el tipo va en caballo) y le dará un terrible susto de la cual para poder librarse, tendrá que correr o rezar.
3 The Tunjo
The legend has it that the Tunjo is depicted as a golden doll. Some say they are small symbolic or divine idols of the "Pijao people"; others say they were gods or only offerings to their gods or their chiefs. The Tunjo appears at night as a harmless baby crying along the streets, crossing forests, a creek, through the ruins, abandoned houses or in rivers. If someone falls prey to the Tunjo, he will give you a good scare but nothing serious. In return, he will make you rich with mysterious fortunes. If the alleged "victim" ignores the Tunjo, this supposed abandoned "child" will follow them (or will mount if the guy is on horse) and give them a terrible shock from which they will have to run or pray to escape.
